Reclaimed Woodworks in Southern California | Veteran Owned

Design Process

We strive to meet our customers needs, and exceed their expectations.

The Coastal Craftsman takes pride in excelling in the creation of custom woodworking items that specifically meet customer’s requirements.  Unlike big operations, we view each piece as unique.

Start by viewing the photos on our website.  See something you like, but not sure if it’s the right size?  Don’t worry. We custom build every piece.  Just take measurements of the spot where you would like it and include it in your request.  We will take your measurements and inputs into the design process.  Once the design is complete, we email a detailed drawing to you for your review.  The design will include measurements, key design parameters and basic agreements of the deal.

These might include, but are not limited to the following

  • Price
  • Shipping or pickup
  • Wood type
  • Project completion time

If you accept the design, payment is typically paypal or cash and half is required to get us started.  The remainder of the amount will be paid upon completion.

Have a different color in mind?  Tell us about it!   We will work with you to identify a color, or colors that work best for you.  Most of our pieces combine painted solid hardwood with historic reclaimed tops stained or oiled in a natural finish, however we love to hear your ideas and will work with you to build a piece that is exactly what you want.

We will be communicating with you throughout the process and can receive inputs on color all the way till the end.  If you like, we can send progress pictures at different phases in construction.
